Mission Statement

The Centre for Film, Television and Screen Studies research centre brings together scholars from disciplines across the University who teach and research various aspects of film, television and screen studies, to share methodological ideas and work on collaborative research projects. In this, it responds to the changing nature of the disciplines, where important work is increasingly conducted outside of traditional Film Studies departments.

Our purpose is to facilitate this collaboration, coordinate our undergraduate teaching, develop postgraduate provision, and provide a platform from which to secure funding, attract high-quality students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and improve the visibility of our research within and beyond academia through dissemination, innovation and engagement. Through programmes of research seminars, conferences, symposia, special screenings and exhibitions, we will foster a vibrant research culture that will reach beyond Bangor to bring together scholars from across disciplines and institutions.
